Tell me about an '82 380SEL

I've seen one of these up locally, supposedly under 80k with fsh. What's to know? Other than the usual old car caveats is there anything in particular?

The 380 is not the most loved of Merc engines and had problems with the timing chain that caused them to snap early on. Make sure the car has had a duplex chain fitted at some point (should be guides on the web for this).

p.s. I may have read somewhere that only US market cars had the single timing chain in the first place but find that unlikely.
