Suggest you give Kim Collins (company is called Quattro Sports) a call - based in Haywards Heath in Sussex, importer of MTM chips and tuning bits and bobs - Quattro specialist first and foremost - but an expert on other Audis as well. His number - 01444 451542

the bods on www.tt-forum.co.uk should be able to proffer some useful suggestions..

From those on here you're more likley to get "Buy a TVR/Porker/Lotus etc.."

FWIW, Audi are quite content that you can tune that engine upto about 265-270BHP without any reliability issues arising..

The last couple of months of CCC have been moding a 225 TT as a project car. Might be worth trying to get a copy.
I seem to remember they were a bit dissapointed on the cost vs the power achieved?
They had a monster intercooler fitted amongst other 'things'

I always thought it would be a good idea for audi to fit in the rs4 v6 lump. I guess they don't want those TT's getting into trouble with high speed braking, what with it's suspect 'handling'.

A Sprinting friend of mine, has the Audi S3, he is having the following mods done, by a VAG dealer, so the warrantee is intact:
£1800.00 buys him: uprated front suspension kit, (stop the nasty understeer) a chip re-program, that gives him.... wait for it.... 50bhp and 90ftlb torque extra !!!!!

Probably quite feasible on a turbo-charged engine as you can just programmatically whack up the boost.

Have a look at www.auto-amd.com/tt.asp
Geoff at AmD is quite the "Mark Adams" when it comes to chipping / remapping - he does rolling road custom re-maps and is quite a whizz. He claims a gain of 40 bhp & 70 lbs ft torque and his claims are often conservative to be on the safe side.

certainly is - my £500 conversion took my S3 from 210bhp/200torque to 265/300 and transforms the car

chipping is easy and v hard to detect if you choose right - MTM and AmD are good (avoid SC) but best solutions are APR (switchable chip) or revotechnik 9don't even open your ECU) - both have good websites

Take a look at www.jabbasport.com 265bhp chip with r/road sessin for under £500. They also to a roller bearing turbo conversion, which coupled with chip, intercooler and better breathing gives you 400bhp

Jabba Motorsport ( www.jabbasport.com ) do pretty good custom ECU remaps for VAG 1.8 Turbo cars, including the Audi TT. A number of people I know have had their Octavia vRS and Octravia 4x4 remapped there (180 and 150 stock BHP respectively), and the gain in power is typically anywhere between 25 and 40%

For the 225 BHP Audi TT, they do a custom remap that will bring the power up to between 256 and 270 BHP (depending on your engine). It costs £425 including VAT and includes rolling road time.

While I haven't personally had work done by Jabba, I've heard so many good things I'll be taking my Octavia vRS there as soon as I can afford it.
