Handles on the rear doors of my Mondeo were a bit sticky so I take 'em both apart, lube the relevant bits & re-fit. Working fine until about 3 hours later when one of 'em decides it's not going to play ball & open the door for me.

Now before you all say what a muppet, I must stress that it WAS working before I put it all back together. Thing is, now I can't get the door open from inside OR outside, I can no longer get "inside" the door to fix the problem! D'OH!

So any ideas on how I can get the door open when there's no apparent way of unhooking the latch? There's a pin/lever thing that hooks into the handle & I think that must have come unhooked so the handle just flaps about without unlocking the catch, but as I said, now the door won't open, I can't remove the door trim & get in there to fix it!

Cheers for that. Won't let me register to post my question though!

Have to keep trying.

I've just got a nasty feeling that it's going to end up with the door card having to be destroyed to get inside & another one sourced from a scrappy. grrrrrrr.

Had you activated the cars deadlocking after the rebuild?

It sounds more like you've put it back together incorrectly and it's stayed deadlocked.

Can you hear the locking motor work when you lock/unlock?

If one motor is out of position it should syncronise with the others after locking and unlocking

The good folk on MEG will help you

Nah, I can hear the motor & whatnot although it doesn't sound 100% right. I will have a fiddle around with the synchronisation now that you've mentioned it. You never know eh? Ta.

erm...MEG?
