Morning all,

So BMW have said that my car needs a new battery, and alternator and a water pump. Not sure why they think my electrical problems are in the water pump, but they know best.
They have qouted me AED10k and will "hope" to have it done by Sunday/Monday.

Am I having my ants pulled down, and if so does anyone know of someone that's reliable and could do it cheaper/sooner?

Cheers.

Speak to the guys at Max Garage - 04 340 8200 or www.maxdubai.com. They have a good network of people/places to find parts and know their stuff. Found me replacement part for my VR6 crapper for a couple of hundred Dhs, compared to the 2K that the stealer wanted

Chilli, go straight to the Bosch Service Centre on Sh Zayed Rd (the same slip road before AGMC BMW main stealers.)

They can deal with most vanilla electrical issues. Also they won't rob you blind like AGMC. AGMC would have charged me over AED 2500 to replace the battery on my X5, but I got it for around AED700 fitted (same spec) at Bosch!

Let us know how you get on.

Yep, told them to poke it and I'll pcik it up tonight. They kindly said they had washed it for me, and I owed them AED900 for the inspection fee!

I've calmed down quite a bit now though....
