I saw a nice looking Omega Speedmaster in a Jewellers yesterday but I cannot find it on the official Omega website and all I find on Google is replicas.

It looked like this:

Now while this one is the 35th Anniversary version, I do not recall seeing the "July 20, 1969" on it in red. It definitely had the white face, black sub-dials (in the same location as the pic) and black on the bezel - apart from that it looked like a bog standard Speedmaster.

Anyone know if it is a new model or old?

How do you know it isn't a replica? Or a 'fantasy-replica' i.e. a replica of a model that doesn't exist... Unlikely in an AD but even traders get caught out sometimes...

The one in the original picture is the apollo 35th year anniversary model

It's also available without the red writing, but was a limited run of 300 or so.

The one without the writing is the speedmaster 3570.31 or Mitsukoshi?
Sounds like it was a japanese model though

Thanks for the input.

The strange thing is the shop only sells new and it was sat in amongst a big pile of Speedmasters and Seamasters. I have have another look tomorrow lunchtime and maybe even purchase!!!

I read the OPs post to mean that the watch he saw in the shop looked just like the one in the photo he posted, but without the red writing.

OK, I had a look today. No special text on it although the Speedmaster wording is in red. It has a date at the 5 O'Clock position and is priced up at £2180. It's brand new so I presume it is last years model.
