Surprisingly, Tesco finest.
Stainless with copper bottoms.

Le Pentole used to be the dog's back when I sold such things, or Berndes if you like non-stick.

You may need to look in store frown
I bought some pans from Tesco at "half price" not copper bottoms, but a decent weight & good to cook with.

I'd always go for Anolon/Circulon. Amazingly good pans, and normally available at a good price if you shop around (Harts of Stur normally seem to be knocking them out cheap).

One thing worth considering is whether you'll ever want to upgrade to an induction hob. My pans are annodised aluminium, which while being very good to cook with means that they won't work on an induction hob. I think that the newer pans have been modified to work (presumably they have some iron added to the base) but I'm not 100% about this.
