Lotus have just appointed a dealer in Doha and are going to be selling the full model range apparently. The dealer is the same one that does Aston Martin so they should be a decent bunch.

Anybody owned or driven an Exige or Elise in this region? I'm just wondering how they cope with the heat and what the A/C's like in summer? I loved my Elise when i had one back in the UK and quite fancy another one.

cheers,

omohat

I had an invite to the launch last night, but unfortunately my wife was leaving last night so couldn't attend. I have to admit, I'm curious about how well the AC copes as well.

There was a Lotus being thrashed around the Dubai Autodrome on Friday and did bloody well in the UAEGT series, it being its first race.

I agree, not sure how the a/c will cope with our heat during summer mind if and when it comes here.

I'd happily look at a Lotus if they came here - I could be quite happy with a top spec Exige smile

To me, unless you're going to regularly track it, I don't see the point.

We just don't have the twisties on normal roads to make it worthwhile - plus I'd be worried about the safety aspect over here.

I went and spoke to them last night. They have about 10 Elise SC and Exige S in the country. I didnt bother asking about the Evora, it's not for me. Prices are actually very comparable to the UK, even at this crap exchange rate.

Apparently they are Gulf spec cars, not UK spec, so the cooling and A/C is upgraded.

Serioulsy tempted...

cheers,
