Better make that South Polar Skua then.

And Kelp Gulls fit the bill in that location.

Reminds me a little of the poem my grandma would recite around this time of year.

De spring is sprung, de grass is riz
I wonder where de boidies is?
De boid is on de wing, but dat’s absoid,
De wing is on de boid

De grass is riz de trees is green
And in de moitle tree a boid is seen.
A boid is seen and also hoid
And also felt. He dropped a toid.
Dis gets woise

I'd heard the first verse but not the second.

A slightly different version I heard was:
Spring is sprung, de grass is riz
I wonder where dem boidies is?
De boid is on de wing dey say,
I tink it is the other way,
De wing is on de boid

Today I was doing some macro photography. I heard a whoosh and felt a breeze on the top of my head and to my surprise it was a white kestrel about 1 metre above me. It then proceeded to land on a branch about 2 feet from my face. I just stared at it, mouth agape, wishing I didn't have all my extension tubes on. hehefrown

I know that feeling ! Sods law of photography, you will always have *exactly* the wrong lens fitted for any given opportunity.

Simple solution.

You need a minimum of about 4 bodies with a selection of suitable lenses and take them with you at all times.

No problem.

Good if you can remember to reset the DST values on all of them when the clocks change too.

A handful from me, the blackcap was giving me a serious runaround, couldn't get close to him! Bit rusty at this game, and not up to the standard of some of the excellent shots on here!

Those are some really nice shots of a sparrow. I know from experience it is hard to avoid blowing all the finer details out of the white/grey feathers.

Not the best quality image, but not something I've seen before.
