I've been keeping an eye on these for a while in the jewellers in our village as he's been dropping the price for a few weeks. Today they got to the point where it would have been rude not to buy it!

I got talking with the guy, they don't get the footfall from people who know what they are so are dropping them, it's a funny little place really as they only sell Rotary and Hamilton, and are getting in something that sounds absolutely hideous (something I'd never heard off that are mainly womens watches covered in diamonds...)

So, wrist shot to follow, but this is what is now on my wrist - Hamilton Khaki Navy 3 timezone

What do you guys reckon?

Thanks, I had noticed that too, was beginning to think it was just me that liked it! Took me a while to work out how the 3 time zones work, but now I've sussed that it's relatively straight forward. You set the outer dial (the red one) so that the difference is at 12 (so, if it's one hour ahead, you line up the 1 at the 12). Then you just read the hours on the outer dial when you read the time instead of on the white one. The third time zone is on the white dial on the inside of the watch, which you set to be the time in the destination and it just pings round as the hour passes. Currently set to New York time for no other reason than I had to set it to something!

I might change the strap though, I think it would look good a black leather perforated strap, but we'll see.

I suspect getting it for less than half price also helps my views on it ;-)

Nice. I take it from your username that said jeweller is in Aberdeen which is a pain as I'd have been in there like a shot. Been hankering after a Hamilton for a while now, some of their Jazzmaster chronos are lovely looking pieces.

I love Hamilton they really are the all American brand and as such have a great history.

First blatant product placement, first mass market electronic, first really odd shape (I still want a ventura) I still love Hamilton even though they're now just another part of Swatch.

"American" and "great history" aren't two things that I usually think of in the same breath (about anything)! biggrin

The jeweller is in the West Midlands, my username is misleading!

They don't have any of the chronos, I looked as I really like them (a bit of an IWC Portugese about them). I did buy a Jazzmaster non-chrono as well, but that's for a present.

They have one more Navy GMT 3, it's the black and white one, and they have LOADS of the mad triangular shape ones as well, nearly all with massive money off.

The odd thing is that you'd have thought Hamilton would be quite well known by WAGs and rappers - Will Smith wore one in MiB IIRC.
