Now then.

For reasons too dull to mention I have come into possession of £70 worth of Marks and Spencer vouchers.

Instead of spending them on a nice pair of slacks and a new necktie, I thought I'd get something that I'd not normally spend my own money upon.

Namely, some pricey wine.

Does anyone have any recommendations for either a single bottle for the full £70 (or slightly more) or a couple of bottles in the £30-40 range? Or even 7x £10 etc. (either red or white)

I'm close by the large M&S in Camberley, which I suspect would stock their full range of plonk.

Their website lists wine by the case and I'm not sure if the same wines are available in store.

I would suggest buying circa ten bottles split into regions so that you can compare between them and buy the ones you enjoyed in future. A single bottle at that price is damn fine stuff and unless you are really in to it then it could be a waste

IMO of course.

Which was my initial thought, but it wouldn't seem so wasteful if it was 'free' with the vouchers rather than having spent real money on it.

Do M&S actually sell any fine wine?

Can't really advise on which bracket of wines to go for, but if you have any leftover the triple chocolate cereal is thoroughly recommended! hehe

That's my local M&S so I know they don't have any good wine, at least I'm yet to find anything I'd buy from them again.

Any £10 bottle I've had from M&S has been distincly sub-standard. You might have more luck with more expensive stuff but experience has told me not to bother with M&S wine.

The M&S own label champagne wasn't bad last time I tried it.
