Where near Swindon can you ride a quad? I'm considering getting one just for fun days out but not sure where I could take one or how much it would cost.

Depends on a lot, but there's no shortage of road legal ones out there.

There is a little track just off the A419 at the bottom of Blunsdon Hill. Think he is only open sundays. I think I saw somewhere near Purton too. My advice would be go for a road legal one and just go greenlaning. Or get friendly with a local farmer with a big field.
My dad used to take me to a local farmer who let us use his field for teching me to drive when I was about 14-15
