Thank God I didn't get stuck behind this idiot. I bet he had a queue of caravans plodding along behind him.
Stunts like this should be performed on the track.

These records should have a rule that the car must be driven as close to the legal speed limit as is practical/safe in order that the result is of any relevance.

Any PHers out there who would like to volunteer to attempt the record of driving around the coast of the UK using the most petrol?

Ive got the diesel astra its a 1.7 16v which can do 50ish to the gallon , but with carefull driving with my lead foot i can get it down to 30-35

My brother once got 7mpg (yes seven) out of my 1.8 mk2 golf (Driver not GTi). I worked it out in that I had filled it up before he used it, and checked the mileage before and after he used it.

Surely someone here can give us a gallons per mile figure

Edited to add: I usually get 30-40 mpg normal driving.
