I've noticed a clonking from what I guessed was the diff, for a number of weeks now. Recently its started doing it on easing off the power as well as on hard acceleration.
My friendly neighbourhood TVR dealer suggested checking the bolts at the rear of the diff just in case it was an easy job....otherwise time to check the crack in the sofa for any spare cash !

Anyway, I managed to jack the rear of the car up enough to crawl under and peered through the various obtacles and there they were, 4 bolts holding the back of the diff to the subframe..... all coming loose ! One of them had a good inch of thread showing, so probably wasn't planning on staying with the car much longer.
Not the easiest of bolts (8 mm Allen key fitting) to get access to and to get a ratchet onto, but got there in the end. Car seems much happier for the work though - no more clonking from the diff.
Now I can hear all those other noises that I wasn't worried about before !

It's worth keeping an eye on the bushes as well they are prone to wearing.
