TVRCC WILTSHIRE EVENT UPDATE

Haynes International Museum
TVRCC Wiltshire 16th May 2010

Come along to probably the biggest TVR event in the West this spring!
Everyone is welcome from the West Country to the Western Isles,
Special Prize for the TVR owner with his car who has travelled the greatest distance to attend.

• Event officially begins at 11am Museum opens 9:30am – 6:00pm.

• Discounted entry to the museum plus discount in the shop on Haynes published books.

• TVRCC club stall selling club regalia etc. Discount for non members joining on the day. Samples on hand of TVR specific books, for purchase in the shop.

• TVR Jumble. Bring along your unwanted spares, they are always worth something to someone. We will reserve an area for members who wish to raise some cash from the boot of their car.

• South West Sports Cars will be promoting their TVR car hire. Thinking of buying a Tuscan, Cerbera, Tasmin or even a Tuscan Racer? Try one first through SWSC.
.
• Neil Garner Performance Engineering will be on hand to offer advice, services and outline their capability as a TVR specialist from simple servicing to full rebuilds and Track Day preparation.

• 12:30 – 13:30 Lunch break and time to sample hot meals, sandwiches or West Country Cream teas in Haynes restaurant.

• 13:30 - Mike Penn the Museum Curator will give a presentation on the origins of the Haynes International Museum. In one of the Conference rooms. His 25 years at Haynes will give you a unique insight to the museum and cars.

• 14:30 - Judging begins for the Concours de Elegance competition for TVR’s, with prizes donated by the Museum. It is not just for that chrome plated nut bolt restoration beauty, but will take into account age, originality and condition as well as points awarded for distance travelled.

• 15:00 - Fernando Alonso’s Chief Race Engineer when he was at Renault and 3 year Britcar series winner Neil Garner, will give a talk on his exploits in F1 plus TVR Track Day Preparation in one of the Conference rooms.

• Sprint track. - The Haynes International Motor Museum is offering the use of their small sprint track to owners wanting to sample the delights of a private track. We will have use of the track from 11A.M. till 4 P.M and once you have used it you go to the back of the queue. There is no limit on the number of times you use it, 3 laps at a time. Please register with your R.O if you wish to use the track. We need to raise £150 to break even so before we commit to booking it we need to know the numbers expected. The cost will be no more than £7.50 and if we get enough people confirmed i.e. 20, it will be booked and should we get more than that the cost will go down pro rata.

The day will be a chance to drive to Haynes, sampling some of Wiltshire’s finest roads perhaps in convoy
with your local regional members, Contact your R.O. for details. On arrival you will be able to wander amongst some of the finest TVR cars assembled in the South West this year and view an unsurpassed car collection in the Museum. Let’s make it the Best in the West this year!

Our kind thanks go to Marcus Bond and Tim Vaughan of Haynes for their help, patience and enthusiasm in making what will be a great day – we look forward to seeing you.
