I had a mailshot last week from NS&I urging me to buy more PBs. That makes me think either people are drifting away due to low returns or the Govt needs more money, or both.

can't see it happening like that. You win, you win, regardless of an email or not. It will either get reinvested, get paid into your bank account automatically, or send you a cheque if you haven't agreed to the first 2 options.

As it sounds like none of the above has happened I'm afraid you haven't passed go and cannot collect your prize.........
I have it set to auto invest. But I am saying if they don't email then there is no win that month...?

It might be to get people to max out, yes. But 'more prizes' doesn't mean anything; it's average % return that counts. When I started it was 4%; IIRC it's 1.5% now?

We've been lucky, £2700 worths of wining in 2 years from not a very big investment...works out at 10%. Our ISA's on the other hand, pretty much maxed out, 1-2% a year, unless you lock it in for 3years +

I get next to nothing, have quite a chunk in there too. At the moment I am getting better return (about 2x) from my current account (123) on a smaller sum.

Received £25 the other day which was most surprising as I didn't realised I had any. How do I check how many I have?

ETA Having had a look, seems to be very hard to work out how many I have, short of buying more and getting a receipt!

if you just won you must know your bond number ? Log in/sign up and see how many bonds you have.

The only one I can see involves printing and sending off a form.

Some interesting results in the high value prizes - £1,000,000 winner bought £8,000 in April 2013 and has now won.

£100,000 winner holding £14 since December 1972, worth the wait...probably forgotten about them and will get a nice surprise.

Please don't invest in premium bonds...you are just lending the government money for a shocking interest rate.

You would be better off statistically buying shares in a FTSE100 tracker and buying lottery tickets with the dividends if you still want the chance to 'win big'.
