Anyone got a Dornbluth I could have a close look at?

I've been searching for a pre-owned 99.1 for ages and I guess I could still be waiting for years to come, so I'll probably just bite the bullet & order one new.

However, it's a decent amount of cash, so I'd love to be able to handle one before committing.

Anyone in the London / Southern home counties would be in striking distance, or I'd pay for RMSD postage both ways for anyone further afield whose trusting enough to send it to me for a quick viewing.

Well, W66OCH (Warwick) kindly let me dribble over his 99.0 today. It's the one that was for sale on TZ-UK that I should have bought when I had the chance

Genuine question - would you be happy with a pre-owned watch? Part of the attraction for me is the understanding that, up to a point, you could get a 99.x built with a set of options that would make your watch, well, yours.

As a serial flipper, on the whole I prefer to buy pre-owned to avoid the worst of any depreciation, but have to admit buying a brand new Dornbluth & having it "made to measure" is very appealing.

The flipping I understand, and I apologise for transposing my unwritten thoughts on 'what makes a keeper really special?'... Aesthetically I could possibly substitute a Stowa MO, for less than a grand new and in my hand in a few weeks, for a 99.1... but we all know it's not going to be the same. And if you're going for a keeper, why go for someone else's spec when you can have yours.

Just faxed off the order today I'm really looking forward to seeing its progress during the build, and can't wait for it to arrive in around 5 months!

Had a Stowa MO - nice watch but the proportions of the case & dial were ever so slightly off to me, so I sold it on very quickly.

As for the Dornbluth, I think / hope it will be a keeper as I'm sure if it's not and I've bought new I'll loose a decent chunk of cash on selling, which as a matter of personal pride (even more than the impact on my wallet) I'd obviously rather avoid.
