It's probably the same guy who is claiming to be selling a 4.5 BV lump..

Seems to know all the rare ones to try for more cash..

Neil, Tas, Rev, Steve Heath and all the other experts -
Excuse me asking what may be a daft question - is the 420/450 SEAC block different from a standard Rover block?

If I wanted a spare, would it be OK just to buy a standard Rover unit or would it be best to acquire this advertised block?

Thanks

I would call someone like V8D and ask those questions .. paying an inflated price for very old engine internals does not make much sense.

Far better just to buy a short motor from V8D or John Eales - probably would not cost any more and it's brand new.

I would wait until you need a new engine rather than risk a lot of dosh on something that may or may not be worth it.

The 420 SEAC lump is basically a standard 3.5 as per vitesse, they are difficult to find these days, the SEAC internals are rare as rocking horse poo,(cosworth pistons etc) 93.5mm bore as opposed to the later 94mm bore, and generally if they "let go" you replace with a 4.6 ?
