Hello all,

Well, a few withdrawal symptoms once I arrived in Florida, but I'd forgotten all about you after a few days !!

Just went into Nick Whale here for a new badge for the Boxster (the lugs that hold it on broke yesterday whilst washing it) and it's their opening night tonight. For the celebration, they have on the forecourt:
(in no particular order)

GT1 Le Mans racer
550 Spyder (yum !) - Stirling Moss drove this one, don't know which race.
959 Paris-Dakar rally spec (big wheels)
917 Le Mans spec (driven by Steve McQueen in the Le Mans film, so they said)
911 Rally car (driven by Nick Whale himself, no less)
A silver Boxster S with red leather cut in half lengthways (which looks like my car, cut lengthways)

A lovely lot of cars. I was there with a work colleague for about 20 mins......

Good to be back.

Greg

Welcome back, Greg. Had a good time, I hope? Where is Nick Whale again (I know really but my brain ahs temporarily ceased to function normally..)? I was reading that this new centre is the first with the "new" Porsche corporate image etc etc.

I must say in the pictures it looked just the same to me....is it any different?

My problem with Porsche dealers is that when visiting they seem to manage to wangle deposits out of me....ordered my MY2003 'S' last week. Ouch!

Yep, lovely thanks Don, apart from the displeasure of driving a 2002 Sebring convertible for 3 weeks ! Honestly, you could get fingers throiugh the gaps between the front and rear windows ! Amazing !

It's off J4 of the M42 off the A3400. In a place called Dorridge. It used to be a Toyota dealer. New image ? It's quite dark inside, with kind of dark marble type floor tiles. Quite nice anyway. About time you got a new car anyway, what with telling every man and his dog to chop in their non sports cars ! At least you practice what you preach, so respect due.

I'd love to know what you're paying for your 2003 Don, if you could either mail me off list or on here if your conscience doesn't bother you too much. Did they give you a good trade in on yours ? Or is the TVR going ?

Great to hear from you.

Greg (and fading tan)

Actually I don't have a firm trade in value yet. Reason being is that the car won't arrive until January/February next year (earliest December). It'll depend on the mileage and condition then.

I said a mileage number and the man gave me an indication of what it would be worth.... which wasn't what I wanted to hear, of course....if you really want to know I'll e-mail you...but my suggestion is it would be better to go on blissfully unaware until the time comes....and ENJOY!

Mind you. I will put a lot of miles on the car prior to them taking it back si its not so bad really (I keep telling myself!).
