If its any help your not alone! TFI thursday and im counting down the minutes till 4pm and high tailing it home via the beer shop!

16:00 hours........ 5hrs and 35 minures....and counting. Home, into shorts, beer, smoke, dip in the pool, read a paper....no molestations from anyone....Oh yes, looking forward to that...

Bstd! I quit smoking a couple of months ago and have no pool! Plus Dubai is 1hr ahead of Bahrain so you're closer to 4pm than me!

I'm not allowed to go into details, as most think I'm acting like a spoilt child, and worse things happen. I agrre, but can't stop getting angry!


ps - If you're moving here, get as much done whilst in the UK before moving. Get everything in writing, and it you're lucky enough to have good contacts here, get them to sort out as much as possible.....as you will be banging yopur head against a brick wall!
Apart from that, I'd be happy with another 10 year shere.

(dont worry! its just the normal day to day frustrations you have to deal with out here!)

I have applied for a couple of positions over there, but have been thinking about moving out there for the past 18 months.... Being in the Oil & Gas industry means there is always something, but I have been picky about what I have been applying for, as I need to make it work, both professionally and finacially.

However, recent events have accelerated (see what I did there!!) my efforts to head out there.

I have been in Dbx both with business and pleasure over the last couple of years, but need to make it a more perm move!

That would be fantastic if you guys could make contact, I have a couple of agencies who are working hard on my behalf here in Aberdeen, but direct contacts are always good.

As Chilli said the GCC/Dubai is great and I would say the best area in the world for your job?? I cant be of much help with contacts as 1) I work with boats and 2) I live in Bahrain, not Dubai! Although saying that Bahrain is just one big oil and gas refinery!

Be interested to know who you are working / worked for over there. I am currently courting / being courted by a major O & G contractor (I currently work for an O & G E&P in Aberdeen as a Commercial Manager)

Just the general day to day stuff to be honest, plus any good contacts in the industry across there. Have been across there quite a few times and always loved the place..
