Hello all

Due to the rising heat over the last few days I decided to use the air con on my car and found out that it was blowing hot air eek

I thought it would need regassing and went to kwik fit. They tested it for leaks and there was none then refilled the gas which took 45mins. When it came to testing the cold air the result was the same, hot air confused

The chaps at kwik fit said to get the air con checked out as there is no leaks and the gas has been refilled

I'm wondering if anyone else has experianced anything like this and can offer advice before I make the call to my MB specialist? I have checked all the fuses in the car and under the bonnet which relate to air con/heater and they seem fine? Also, the car seems to be running slower than usual or am I being paranoid?

Any input will be much appreciated

A worried Mok

Does your EC/Rest light go off? Have you listened for the air con compressor engagement? Are you getting an outside temperature reading?

I have a pdf with some info on the heating system but it does not diagnose issues but gives info as to design etc. pm if you want it.

Slacker

Thanks for responding

The EC/Rest light goes off, I have also listened for the air con compressor engagement and it seems like something is trying to get out, like a flap trying to open or something but failing after a few attempts, I am also getting an outside temperature reading

I think I have the information you mentioned on pdf, downloaded from the internet and doesn't diagnose the system but offers alot of other information

I thought it maybe a common problem others come across, nevermind, I have now contacted the MB specialist I use so he will see if he can find the source of the problem and sort it out, he did mention he has seen similar things happen as the garage who regasses don't usually use the right amount of gas which may cause problems like this

Can you think of anything else that may have affected the car?

If I look at the reference diagram I would say if you can't get cool air then the cool air intake flaps are not operating. Can you get any cool air with or without the air con.
