Cowper Arms
Letty Green
Herts
Do any of you TVR owners fancy attending this meet? I recently had dinner at the pub and it was very nice. There are a few roads in the area and you fancy taking a little hoon either before or after?
When: Sunday 4th July 10:30am
Where: The Cowper Arms, Cole Green http://www.thecowperarmscolegreen.co.uk/
The North London Meet is back, and it looks like we could be onto something a little special for the next one. The Cowper Arms has offered to open early for us. This means we would effectively have a good quality pub in a great location, with a large car park all to ourselves to start with.
It's taking us further into Hertfordshire, so the North London tag isn't strictly true anymore, but the location looks like a winner. There are some good roads in the area - the pub is just off the B158 for example - and it's still remains within easy reach of the M25 and A1.
For anyone who hasn't been before we're a friendly bunch I reckon; there's a wide range of ages and we've had everything from diesel hatchbacks to supercars in attendance before, so please come and say hello if you're around.
Directions
The scenic route from Potters Bar/A1000: Follow the A1000 north as Potters Bar gives way to Brookmans park. Go past the traffic lights for the B157 junction and about 150yds further up there's a turning to the right signposted 'Essendon B158'. Follow this road into the village of Essendon (about 3.5 miles) and out the other side. After you leave the village and the road returns to NSL you want to take the second road on your left. It's a very sharp turn and it's unsignposted (once you pass the first turning it's about the same distance again...) After that you want to keep following the road to Letty Green, through the village and out the other side. The pub is on your right immediately after you pass underneath a railway bridge.
From the A1/A414: Take the A414 (heading east if you're coming from the A1) until you come to a roundabout (the 3rd I think) signposted Cole Green and Birch Green. After you pass through a couple of traffic islands there's a signpost on the the right to Letty Green. Follow this road (if you overshoot it there's another turning about 50 yds later) and the pub is on your left about 1/4 mile later.
(Neither way is as complicated as it sounds, just tried to make the directions comprehensive! The post code is SG14 2NL if you're sat nav'ing it)

Great day out good to see everybody. Dan's driving was not as nail biting as usual, just ask his son. Also nice to meet up with Amazon at her village fete and have tea and tesco's chocolate cake I mean homemade cake...
