Special edition SLK 55?

Anyone know what 'special edition' this is?





I've not heard of it before, and the owner claimed it was the only one in Australia. It had a 'special edition' plaque on the trans tunnel. The owner said it had no name, and was just a special edition.

I did wonder, but then an older gent wouldn't put those doors on a brand new SLK, and the plaque (which I could only see through the glass) looked legitimate enough. I assumed (and am still assuming) it's a genuine AMG/Merc 'special'.
I wish in the brief chat we had I'd pushed for more clarity, but I was delaying him and his OH enough.
