Hi, my 2006 S class is due for a B Service in 400 miles.

I intend to pick up the required parts from MB and have my mechanic do the service to a high standard that I can trust.

I am wandering that when the service has been done:

A: Will the 'B service due in xxx miles' warning go away itself?

B: Does the car need to be connected to a computer to have the service indicator reset?

OR

C: Can I reset the indicator myself by using a combination of specific ignition key positions/pressing a few buttons?

Thanks

It explains in the hand book how to reset the service indicator.

Hi Jags, hand book states; switch on ignition.
bring up the service symbol on the dash.
press and hold the reset button [on dash to right]for
about 3 secs.
dash will ask if you want to reset service indicator
confirm buy pressing the reset button again.

Mark.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your help, but I dont have a reset button on the right of the dash. The procedure you explained seems to me like it is for the W220 S Class, which I remember well as I have had one of these for quite a while.

The car in question is a W221, and I am totally stuck on how to reset it.

Have checked with Merc, unfortunately you do need a Star machine to change the
service indicator.
Some MB indie's do have them, one in Warrington I know has.
Worth checking on the MB forums to see if anyone has worked out an alternative
way.
