Oh my freaking God. We were on Houx, but didn't see that. Hope all your stuff was ok. Did you easily find somewhere to relocate to?

I thought we had it bad; having spent the early hours of Saturday digging relief ditches and sumps next to our tent. Then I saw the Houx lake. Hearing croaking frogs where tents normally arwe on Saturday night was a bit odd as well.

The car was fine thanks.

thumbup Excellent pictorial diary of events Richard smile.

I have a few to add, will get onto it asap.

Thought the whole operation went very smoothly. Guess that was partly due to the 'Navy' being present tongue out.

It's only when you know how tall Nicky is that you realise quite how deep that was!

We only managed a few inches of water under our tent but had to divet a small river into the pond that overfolowwed into your campn (sorry wink )

Still the best bit is we are now the proud owners of a treching tool which we will now bring every year to ensure a constant run of droughts for years to come smile

we were ok in our Houx pitch but I did see that lake and wonder if any cars / tents were damaged. Not good at all.

I remember walking around the corner on Saturday heading up to the bridge and 2 guys telling me ‘you won't get through that way’ (thanks if it was you smile ), then noticed the lake that had appereared over night.

I hope you didn’t loose too much stuff and managed to get out before getting too wet, I think the problem was caused by the field behind the concrete fence being like a lake even before the rain came

The sleeping bit of the tent was mainly dry, just a bit of dampness rising up throught the groundsheet! There wasn't too much water in the other bit, it was just starting to come over the top of the inner groundsheet, luckily the plugs & fridge were off the ground. I think if we had slept for any longer things may have been slightly different!

First priority of course though was to move the car!!

Just as well the race wasn't the day before yesterday - Beauséjour caught fire and over half an acre burned out. At least you've learned now - don't park and camp at the bottom of Houx Annexe! It's well known for that kind of problem.
