Not a 996GT2 owner ( yet ) but I hope someone takes up the torch/flame/gauntlet as I would like to count myself in one day ......

Sorry about this chaps but since selling my GT2 I've lost the enthusiasm to put this together now. Still think it's a great idea and would be useful if anyone does it, I'll happily add my old car to it.
Understandable. Initiate plan B?monthefish said:
Is it worth starting a Wiki on this in the meantime, just to ensure that the invaluable information is captured and not lost in history?
What headers would we need? I was thinking...2001 (MK1)
Spec (Club Sport/Comfort) - VIN - Exterior Colour - Interior Colour - Last Known Mileage - Comments/history - Owner

2002 (MK1)

There would be a few different pages which could all be accessed once a member was logged in –
Page 1) Home – login page
Page 2) Model history; even now there are people who are confused between the Mk1 and Mk2 and when each model was released, the Mk2 was in late 2003 (Open to all)
Page 3) Register of cars including details such as;
VIN,
Colour (past and present, date of last change)
Interior (past and present, as most have been changed to Clubsport spec)
Option codes
Aftermarket extras and modifications
Number of owners
Add your car
Add comments about a car (previous accident damage)

yes thats the car and it is in lovely condition but i must admit i drove the metalic green one which was for sale in oxfordshire the ex hans rausing car and that seemed quicker or it might have been that i had never driven a gt2 before
I now have the Ex Hans Rausing car, like you i feel it is Awesomely fast, Ive driven a 996 Turbo for the last 5 years as well as a Ruf Rgt3 for the last year
and the Rausing Gt2 feels Balistic in comparison
Obviously im a happy bunny.....
Dont know whether Porsche would do something special for special customers,I know it
was a special order and has a mega extras spec list..
Funnily enough Arabella did say when I purchased the Gt2 from her that 2 Brothers had came too see it just before me, but one had felt it was Too Fast for the other.

Hi JohnIf you had seen the rear tyres, they were on the canvas on the inside edges, they didnt look overly
bad when you first looked(to be fair Arabella had said they need replaced but i chose to take the car as is and arrange the Tyres and Mot myself)
As you say Arabella was 100% Excellent, real nice Girl...
Think I will have to buy you both a pint, as if you had both wanted the Green Machine I would have
missed it, and i have fancied that car since i saw Paragon with it 3+ years ago. Arabella got in before me and it was gone......Now its with me to stay.
Hope you guys enjoy the Red one, will watch out for it when im in the South.
Hows about some Pics..
Best Regards
Cheers Al
Was this register ever created?
I am a owner of a Sierra RS500, they run a good register for this through the RS Owners club, most of the known cars are on this site or know to the register which is very good information for anyone purchasing a RS500
Being that the GT2 996 is very rare with only 126, I would imagine that the register would not take to long to set up and maintain?
