Decided I fancied a "big watch" and having checked out some options, I liked the TW Steel black watches so ended up with narrowing down to a few options in black and black and copper.

Decision was then made when I found an official online retailer that also has several reputable shops doing one of the options for less than £260, cheapest elsewhere was £330, so it swayed my decison.

Website seemed to have a fault, I picked the item and it was in my basket, but when tried to proceed to checkout, it sent me back to the basket page. So I called them on their helpline, that it appears is their flagship London shop. Explained the situation, no problem they say, we have two in stock at that price. They ask if I can email them the details, rather than take thjem over the phone, as the shop was busy and noisy. So I emailed the sales guy with the order details but dont include my c card details, ask him to call me for payment.

So he calls me back, I give all my card details, and he says he will put it though and call to confirm shipment and tracking number, for next day delivery. This was yesterday at just after 3pm.
5.30, he calls to say the payment was refused..? WTF. it's a nil balance card, I ask why was it refused, he said Streamline refused it, reason unknown. So I call c card company, (not Streamline) and they say it was authorised at 3.20pm, gave me the auth code and the retailer catergory code (whatever that is), but confirm that no payment has been requested, just the authority.
They are open til 7pm, he promises to ship it and let me have the details, but he doesnt call, so at 5 to 7 I call him....
Oh, sorry we've sold the one we had here, there is another in Manchester... WTF! Will be shipped tomorrow, ie today.

So i call this am just before lunch. Speak to the sales guy who says the watch is there with them, having been shipped from a local Dept store where they have a sales counter. I said, "I thought it was in macnhester....?" Oh, no it was transferred at the weekend, it's here we will ship today and let you have tracking number asap. No calls today, so I call at 5.30, the sales guy I have been dealing with has gone home, another guy listens to the story, and says he is doing the shipping for mail order and will pack it up this evening and ship it out to me tomorrow.

I ask for a reason for all the delay and lack of calls, and he says he doesn't know. But promises it will be packed and will call me with a tracking number tonight...

I dont think I will hear from him/them. They are reputable firm, Offical dealer, but something seems decidedly odd with this sale, and I feel pretty uncomfortable with them having my c card details now! I am expecting a scam, it just is odd. Whether is it just that they did not have the stock, or whether they are just very disorganised, I dont know, but it certainly feels a bit suss!
I cannot name and shame but at first I confused the place with a famous part of Manhattan with lots of video screens and a dancing naked cowboy, but then relaised it is spelt differently.biggrin

That IMO.

Stupid, but I think it's more of a screw-up of the staff than anything else.
