We are experimenting with a veg plot in the garden and have sown beetroot, onions, swede, cabbage and cauliflower, so far so good but my question is can i eat the leaves from the swede plant as they look delicious!
most likely. have a look through Chinese cookery books, they tend to focus more on the "whole plant" than we do. Classic example is garlic, where we eat the bulbs, and the chinese eat the leaves, stalks, and of course bulbs too.
