July Challenge - "The Best WayTo Cool Down"
Discussion
Hi all,
After winning the June challenge with the little guys doing some crocodile riding picture, here's the thread for the July challenge.
As the temperature over here in Aachen has been 30+ the last week and we've another week of the same coming, the little guys decided to choose the July theme, "The Best Way To Cool Down".
Secretely I reckon they're looking for ideas to escape the never ending heat (I hope you guys back home are getting decent weather too).
•The shot MUST be taken this month, with the closing date being midnight on the 31st July
•The exif must be posted with your shot
•Keep the images posted to a decent size please, 1024px wide max
•I'll choose the winner this month (with the winner choosing the theme for next month, then deciding who should win that months)
•The Challenge for next month should be generic, as not everyone has access to zoom, macro, specialist lenses. It should be shots that everyone is capable of achieving with the bare essentials
Happy shooting, and I look forward to seeing your shots!
PS, can someone sticky this thread please?

(thats not an entry by the way, just bitterness!)
That's a bizarre picture...it's Carlisle Castle in the background with a Welcome to Scotland sign (badly) shopped in front of it...why? its currently 13C here and pissing down......
(thats not an entry by the way, just bitterness!)

Valkenburg Holland, Monday 12th July.
Following a weekend of 36 + degrees, we decided to go tobogganing, there was a little grey cloud when we started & then a mini tornado 5 minutes later.
We were quite cool then...
Heh heh, I missed this by about 30mins as I drove East from Aachen to Marburg on Monday right before it hit the city here (as you were only 30km or so away in Valkenburg).Following a weekend of 36 + degrees, we decided to go tobogganing, there was a little grey cloud when we started & then a mini tornado 5 minutes later.

I didn't believe Mrs Baz when she told me that there was pieces of tree down outside the house
The highest and only waterfalls in Egypt, Wadi El Rayan in Al Fayoum. The waterfalls connect two lakes in a depression that is a run off for Lake Qarum.

Mrs Baz was given the task of sorting out July's competition and without further ado here's the results:-
Nick's shot of the refreshing blast was chuckled at greatly and unfortunately the lack of EXIF info meant having to exclude Chevykevv's entry (even though the mini-tornado storm was something both myself and Mrs Baz had seen the after effects of personally too).
In third place we have size13's sailing shot, whether that dip was expected or not I'm sure it was "cool" to say the least.
In second place is Scott330ci's pint, which I'm sure would go some way to keeping the heat at bay during a hot summers day (I just hope you guys got some summer weather back home).
Top of the pops goes to tmk2's shot of the dog standing in the water, according to Mrs Baz she said it fitted the subject perfectly, was a simple enough shot but funny at the same time.
So, it's over to tmk2 to decide August's theme...
