Hi all,
Bit of a strange one this but thought would try and tap into the vast knowledge on Piston Heads smile TVR has gone and the Civic Type R now needs to be tested smile

I am going to Slovenia in September. We would quite like to do a pay and play type track if any nearby, similar to the Nurburing - does anyone know of any? We are quite near Triglav, the highest Slovenian Mountain if this helps? We could possibly stop on the way down/back to do a track as well.

If this fails (I know it probably will as a bit of a random request!) - does anyone know of any good Slovenian roads, epic ones or just darn good ones?

Thanks for any tips or advice.

Ian

Was going to suggest the Slovakiaring, but it appears that Slovakia is the wrong side of Slovenia. I should pay more attention to Eurovision...

If you go through the alps there's tons of good roads (maybe find one of those which gets closed off for European Hillclimb events?). The Grossglockner pass in the middle of Austria is worth a look (highest in the Alps I believe?). If you opt to stay further north then Bavaria and the Black Forest are supposed to be good.

Hi,
Thanks for tips - we are staying in Gorenjska, North West Slovenia in the mountains.
I can't find Grossglockener pass on Google Maps - any idea if it is spelt correctly? Do you know what the road number is for example?
How do you find out which are the closed road sin the ALps for the hill climbs?

Thanks again - feel like it is going to be quite tricky to find something?

I think it's the 107 in this map:

More info here on the road's official website (yes, that's right a road with a website!)
