Has anyone installed one of these in their Chimaera? I'm struggling with inspiration as to where to mount it! Also any bright ideas where to put the GPS receiver. I've currently stuck it to the dash pointing slightly forward in the valley by the windscreen in front of the driver, but i'd rather it was somewhere more 'invisible'

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Don't forget that the GPS ariel must have a clear view of the sky unless you use a re-radiating transmitter and external ariel.

No idea as to where to permanently mount the unit, I've got a Origin Blue and a Snooper S6-R that I swap from car to car.

In the Tuscan, I've put the unit just to the right of the steering on the dash, and the GPS receiver in the passenger corner, around where the tax disc is mounted.

Works fine...guessing you would have the space to do the same in a Chimaera.

Hi Tim, I have a S6 with RLD and was thinking about getting a Origin Blue to replace it. The S6 is good at telling you where the Gatso is, but will not tell me if its live until I'm about 50m away.

Is the Origin Blue any better??

Thanks guys

I'm really pleased with the origin b2. I've had it in my T5 for a while now and it works really well. Decent warning, and only gives voice warning when over the limit, so no annoying false alarms.

I used to have a snooper but got so used to ignoring it that i decided it was useless as i never took any notice anyway.

Do you mean that if won't warn you of the position of the Gatso until you are 50m away?

If so two things sprint to mind...

a) The ariel is notr in the optimum position, the snooper does seem to lose the satellites quite frequently (hense the re-radiating ariel).

b) The settings are incorrect in the unit itself, you can set the optimum distance from the Gatso/Truvello etc.

Not sure there's much to choose between the B2 and Snooper really, seems to mainly be the display. Although you can stick a laser jammer into the B2 whereas you can't with the Snooper.

Had the same problem when fitting the B2 to my Chim.

Placed the cradle on top of the dash just to the left of the steering wheel facing the driving position. The GPS antenna should be fitted at least 1 metre away and have a view of the sky. Placed mine to the rear of the centre console so it 'looks' through the rear screen, just. Had no problems with GPS lock.

You'll need to lift off the dash and tunnel trim to hide the cables.

I just had a b2 fitted to my Jag and I'm really pleased with it. Still concerned about where to put the main unit in the Chim. Would it fit on the little ledge just to the right of the steering wheel? That way the receiver can be on the dashboard or at the rear,
