Has anyone owned one of these beasts.

Not much more than a 55 used now and wondering what the ownership proposition is like compared to 55 and is the extra performance worth it?

Thx

I have been thinking much the same. Parts prices scare me witless, though:

New shocker—£1,166.42. Front brake disc... £685.26. Only replace in pairs. Oops. Front pads... £230.54. Damn, you’ve got to do those in pairs, too. That's £1,700 for front discs and pads. Before labour. Front exhaust section... £3,149.00.

The SL65 is brutal! I drove one earlier this year. The traction control had to intervene when flooring it at 30mph off a roundabout in bone dry conditions! biggrin

In the twisties, you certainly notice weight over the nose, though. But if you're simply after a "point-and-squirt" straight-line performer, then it's well worth it thumbup

Also consider the SL600 with help from Kleemann and CarPlanetRacing and you will have the
fastest SL possible.
Front discs and pads £525 fitted. Rears £160ish.

Mark.
