Mk4 Fiesta Zetec 1.25L (0 to 60 in 8 seconds)
not my car, and i really don't believe the guy, he said its tuned with all stock parts and nothing added or upgraded and he can do 0-60 in 8 seconds, somehow the stats dont stack up.

or prove me wrong and say it can be done, he is adamant it is that fast just tuned with stock parts.

What does 'tuned with stock parts' mean?

Maybe he's removed all the seats so it's light as a feather?

Driving down a steep hill with the window open makes your car both louder and faster. That's a fact.

The stock 1.25 Fiesta Zetec does 0-60 in 11.6s

I dont know if this guy is on drugs or his mum believes everything he sais, but in my opinion there is no way a stock car can run this time!

They're surprisingly quick for what they are, but 0-60 in 8.5seconds seems a bit far fetched.

Everything is standard, no weight loss in the car (more weight gain with subs an amps in boot), he said his Grandad tuned the 1.25 Zetec engine to do 0-60 in 8 seconds with no upgraded parts (all stock cams / pistons etc)

The art of the massive bullstter is clearly not yet dead.

It won't be anywhere near 8.5 seconds. In fact, with audio equipment upgrades, it will be more like 12 seconds.

He's getting a video and fairly accurate GPS data to 'prove' it, should be a laugh

Only if it's going off a cliff. I'd be very suprised if it was this side of 10 seconds.

Ignoring the school holidays nature of this I'll try to be reasonable about it. Long answer:
Accordng to parkers the car has 73bhp and does the sprint in 11.9. The mk5 wit the same engine is 12.7 to 60 and the 101bhp 1.6 zetec will bring it to 60 in 9.9.

With those figues in mind it would seem like that would require about 110hp to achive that kind of figure. Which is a significant power increase on the engine. In a an NA that would want all kinds of changes to get that increase. Probably on Throttle bodies, cams, probably injectors etc. Even if his grandad remaped the car he could not make it produce that kind of power.

Short answer: they guy is a massive liar

Why would anyone care about a 1.25 anyway.

And how is that going to help performance ? the weight is still there????

I will however make it handle better as the centre of gravity will be lower

I always thought the 1.25 was a rather nice little engine.

Lowering the rear seats does improve acceleration.
