The '5 is seemingly held in the highest universal regard on here, surely there must be someone out there who actually can't stand the thing?

If that's you, what's your reason for it?

Would never buy one. Don't care how well it handles, it will never make up for not enough power in a straight line. Its also not exactly sexy.

Never owned one, but passed my US driving test in one (well it was Miata) and was quite good fun to and from the test centre.......

Can't see me owning one anytime soon but certinly don't dislike it.

Am sorry but I don't paperbag I can't fault them in any particular way (or would even try on here) I just don't like them.

Took the other half along for a test drive in one a few years back - she hated it! Said it was very underpowered and she couldn't ever see herself driving one. We ended up buying a S2000 - had more power! Obviously being a S2000 and RWD we both died spinning backwards into a hege on many occassions whistle

OH is a mobile hairdresser btw and didn't like the MX5! wink

I don't dislike it. And can accept it's great on many levels. But I'm not remotely enamoured by them and would find it a very unlikely car for me to ever consider owning.

For various reasons I would rather own; Wedge V8 TVR, Triumph TR7, MGB, MGF, smart Roadster, Elise, vX220, mK1 RX-7, Porsche 944, Lotus Excel, Lotus Elan. To name but a few.

I admit I always see them about and think that I'd love to have a go! The mk1 looks good too! But I think they are overpriced a little.

Always 'quite' liked them. Thought they were kind of attractive cars. Pondered getting one myself after hearing about them, but never got around to it. Then, just recently by best mates OH got one. And I had a go in it.
I felt kinda gay driving it, but it was definitely fun !(Not feeling gay, the cars handling) wink

I'd like it more, if it had something more interesting than an inline 4 cyl under the bonnet.

I love them, but must confess I wouldn't own a standard one because I find that they feel very slow (it's a wheelbase/roll centre/impression of speed thing), and in that sector I actually prefer the Toyota MR2 mk3.

The only one I've ever driven was supercharged and quite pokey. Can't see me wanting a standard one (based on performance) or one at all based on looks.

Not my cup of tea im afraid. Theres nothing wrong with the car, its just not something id have out of choice. If im honest i just dont do the whole convertable image, unless its something like an r8 spider.

Anything other than that and to get me to have it youd have to buy it and insure it for me.

I've always viewed them as a car for those who like a certain "lifestyle choice" and quite possibly a very specific profession that involves hair products.. wink

Little softtop sports cars are for girls. Nothing to dislike, just not for me.
