CV received from agency
Discussion
I was sent a cv from an recruitment agency the other day.
The agent said that the candidate was immediately available as he had posted his CV on a job board and another agency had found it and sent it to his employer, and his employer put him on gardening leave. If you were an employer would you dismiss someone in these circumstances (he had been there about 6 years)?
I'm also worried he might have been dimissed from his previous employer for something else and they are telling me this as they don't want me to check references from that employer. However if it wasn't for this his CV looks good and we would invite him for an interview. Would you invite him for an interview?

Do agencies post CVs on jobs boards? Sounds a bit fishy to me, but it might be the agent rather than the candidate who is being fishy.
Ask if his current/recent employer will give a reference to see how things ended?
The only reason agencies post CV's on job boards is for other agencies to rind the "candidate" AKA the recruitment consultant and tell him about the job, company etc. The RC then rings said company, had it happen to me a couple of times and it is very obvious most of the time.Ask if his current/recent employer will give a reference to see how things ended?
