I use Web CEO and IBP as optimising tools for 4 websites, and on one of them we have achieved (finally)front page on Google (UK) for our main search term.
However, now IBP is saying that there is nothing else we can do to improve the ranking, other than increase / improve our inbound links. Web CEO on the other hand still has a host of suggestions to improve the page, mainly around keyword density in internal links and Alt tags.
Obviously I don't want to do anything that will move us off the front page, having finally got there, but I do want to get higher up the page if at all possible. I suppose the question is, which piece of software is the most reliable and should I just go with Web CEOs advice and see what happens?

They all have different key words unfortunately; just trying to get a handle on which software is the most "reliable"
Using software to optimise for google is useful up to a point, but you need to bear in mind that an awful lot google's algorithms are based on traffic and usage patterns rather than content.Mr Will said:

There is a piece of software called XRummer that is grey-hat, but devastatingly effective at creating inbound links. It costs $500 or so though, but there are people who will do XRummer blasts with your anchor words for a few pounds.
It can't lower your rankings (otherwise xrummer owners would be blasting their competitors), but like I say, it's grey-hat and I don't know how far you'd want to go down that road. You can hire plenty of SEO experts to boost your ranking with little risk and very effective results.
