i cant find out age of my 4 stroke lt50 can you help

i got a lt50 for my boys 2 days ago but ive asked the bloke i got it off he doesnt know what year it is i was going to buy new plastics and a few safety features for it as my kids are just starting to ride and i found there all sold by year as i dont know the year of mine its kinda hard lol if anyone knows how to find this out it would be greatly appreciated its got red plastics with the metal tank and its four stroke i dont know if this helps with the age but im sure the 4 stroke didnt come out till a few years after the 2 strokes i stand corrected if im wrong on that thanks for any help, matt.
There are three types of Suzuki LT50s.
LT 50 2/stroke, pull start, 1985-2000
LT 50A 2/stroke, electric start, front suspension, 2000-2006
LTZ 50 4/stroke, electric start, front suspension, 2006-Current
If yours is a four stroke it can only be an LTZ. The bodywork changed for the 2010 model so if you order from 2007 to 2009 you will get the right parts.

Well if it's got the oil tank under the seat then it is not a four stroke !!!
You put two stroke oil in the oil tank and it automaticaly mixes with the petrol to give the correct two stroke mix. You only have to put ordinary petrol in the fuel tank, is that how you became confused. They use so little oil that you might never have needed to replaced it. Or you have been running it without oil which is not very healthy.
If appears that you have an ordinary LT50. It could be anything up to 15 years old and they are normaly blue/white or blue/yellow I have never seen a red one. The later ones had plastic fuel tanks so yours sounds like an older one.
You are now in a similar situation to a lot of people who have bought a second hand LT50, you have no idea how old it is. At least you know it's not a four stroke

ive looked and there isnt any plate under the plastics mate infact after looking at it closely the only things that say it is an lt50 is the petrol tank has got 50 up it but i have seen this tank on lt50 before and on the side of the engine is a little s for suzuki but i know as well as you both of these things could of been fitted is there anyway to definiteley know its a lt mate

The red one is an early 1985 LT50, the white and the yellow ones are late 80s early 90s models.
If all you need the date of manufacture for is to order new plastic and parts, then all you really need to give is the colour and a pre 1999 year because nothing much changed prior to that. Assuming of course that yours is a genuine LT50.

No, what I was trying to say is just give any year before 1999. The only thing that really changed was the decals and colour scheme.If you just want some plastic bodywork or parts then you could give the year as 1995 and the bits will fit your LT.
