We have a contract with a well known professional consultancy firm to provide us support on Employment and Health & Safety legislation. This initially was to ensure our staff contracts were appropriate and that we're doing the right things with non-slip notices, etc.

They also have a legal fees guarantee as long as you follow all the steps they give you, and their helpline was useful when we made a role redundant last year.

However, we're only small (8 staff), and I feel were paying quite a lot for an occasional newsletter and helpline.

I understand that the FSB does pretty much the same thing (but for 10x less cost). Can anyone vouch for the FSB as a good provider for this kind of thing?

Personally I don't rate the FSB having had a poor experience of them. Many on here will disagree with me though.

The FSB will not put advice in writing, so I suppose it depends how important this is to you. If the advice you need is business critical or could put your business at high risk then stay where you are.

Thanks Jase.

Does anyone else have similar or contrasting experience?

My experiences mirror Jase- FSb are incredibly inflexible in their approach, and their guarantee is often worthless.

We have been spending about £300/month for 10 staff and its well worth the money
