As for James May..........
I though he'd sold it. Anyone know what tasteful registration he has now?
He has, this was taken a couple of years ago

Is that a prototype shuttle? Engines look unfaired and it has a Narwhal tusk at the front.

And sitting on the once considered big (but not really that big actually when you see how much bigger a 124 or 225 is), Myasishchev M-4

Usual smaller cargo for the old Soviet donkey.

I always loved the look of the M4 or whatever its called "Bison", reminds me of a U2/Tu-95/Comet love child..

I dont think it ever met the brief as a bomber because of the range limitation but could be wrong.

The Whirlwind picture is a model or CGI. There is a genuine WW2 era colour picture from the Charles Brown archive -

That was supposed to be at Farnborough this year. Sadly, it was withdrawn before the event.

I was gutted Eric, I only found out from the press releases that they were due to have one there.
Up until then I never realised that there was one (albeit a replica) airworthy.

There are three (I think) flying.

They are 100% accurate with a couple of exceptions. They have modern engines (nobody in their right mind would try to fly one with original Jumos)and the cockpit area was modified so they could be easily converted into two seaters.

The team that built them were loaned an original from a German museum to use as a pattern aircraft.

Is that the one that is powered by a pair of turbo fans from a Learjet? or do I have my wires crossed?
