Woah! 3G usage on my MacBook.

My usb WiFi dongle has given up the ghost so I thought that I'd start using my FREE 3G dongle from Orange just for checking mail, idle surfing (ie this site) and looked at a 3 min video on YouTube and a song on Spotify.
138 MB in 3 and a bit days!! Gonna blast that 500 MB cap, better get another WiFi dongle.
So I presume that is the difference between the compressed stuff on my HTC Desire vs uncompressed on my Mac.
I use my HTC quite a bit for the internet but with taking care over switching mobile internet off when not needed, I hit around 150 MB in a month.
Can anyone enlighten me, cheers.
