Best backup software

...preferably free!
I need to backup data files from my laptop to an external hard drive regularly, but not on a schedule. The data will be pictures, documents, music etc so I'm not worried about system files.
Did I mention I'd like a free one? (But if there's a good paid-for one I'll go for it).

I use SyncBack, two profiles, both set to hourly. It's enough for that sort of data.

I know this isn't what you asked for, but this is what I use and it's bloody brilliant:I need to backup data files from my laptop to an external hard drive regularly, but not on a schedule. The data will be pictures, documents, music etc so I'm not worried about system files.
