Do i have Heated door mirrors?
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I needed to re-stick the mirror glass back into my drivers side mirror today, upon removing the glass part there is a heater matrix on the back of it with two cables wired into the mirror housing. But.. i have no extra switches inside the car..
It's a 93 4.0L does anybody else have heated mirrors and if so where's the on/off switch please!
Cheers

I noticed the wires on mine recently whilst I had the glass out to try and re-centre it..... a search of the archives gave 4 or 5 different answers on the "when do they come on" question.... so are they activated in different ways on different age cars (and depending on who built the car on which day )??
Mines a 96/P 4.0HC if that matters.....
Cheers,

I noticed this too when my nearside wing mirror had to be dismantled and refitted after it seized up and the 'stalk' subsequently broke and remained attached only by the wires! Because of the lack of switches in the Chim I assumed that the mirrors probably heated up automatically upon ignition. I kept forgetting to check each time if this was indeed the case especially as it is garaged and I never have to clear the windows of frost!
