PC - Flatbed scanner
Discussion
Mine's an Epson V200. Cost me £60, speed is as fast as the computer can accept the data over USB, and everyone says my scans are the best around
(And as an added bonus it has a name to remind you of an inspirational class of German diesel-hydraulic locomotives, if you like that sort of thing.)
Does slides and negatives too.
Only thing wrong with it is the usual stupid problem of the background sheet being white when it should be black, but nearly all scanners have that problem. (So I put a piece of paper through a laser printer 6 times printing black all over and glued that over the background sheet.)
