The worst boss you ever had.
Discussion
I've worked for some great people, but I've also worked for some utter psychos.
I bumped into an old colleague recently and we got to talking about mental 'Woodsy'. With hindsight we both agreed that he should have been dealt with, but because of our ages and inexperience we just accepted his escalating bizarre behaviour.
What's the most mental boss you've had - and what did they do?

Easy.
Some woman at this company I was temping at for a couple of months years back. She was utterly incapable of doing the job she was employed for.
It was a credit control job where you'd work shifts. half the week on the phone half the week doing admin. If you took a call taht required you to fax an invoice to a customer you had to write the request down and put it in the admin tray for them to deal with. Reguarly I'd take a call for a 2 min job, be forced to write it down for the admin team only to pick it up 2/3 days later when they switched us around to do the admin role for the rest of the week.
She would not have it that it was a completely stupid system.

A chap who had a name similar to a famous cricketer. What a full-of-ste, "blue-sky-thinking" of the highest order.
Oh and the "Head Of Purchasing" in a local government department who looked like that bloke off the SpecSavers advert and drove a Toyota. The word "" just isn't harsh enough.

The two tts who used to run the previous firm I worked for. Ran the place into the ground by running up debts of c£750K and then liquidated the company leaving no way of paying debts whilst concurrently buying up assets etc via one of those "phoenix" jobbies and leaving 25 or so folk on the dole.
wkers , C s s etc, etc, etc

I had a manager who really disliked me because I knew my job well and I got on very well with all my colleagues.
Everytime he intervened in our work he would fk it up and try and blame someone else in the team, usually me, although the system logs of his user ID proved the errors to be his.
I tried and tried to get along with this chap and ignore his usually rude comments, then asked to move to another dept. He wouldn't let me, so I left the company and the country for something far better. He was ousted from his job about a year later.

Never really had a boss on site, they have always been based some where else, which makes my life easier.
However did have one about 6 years ago who tried to give my job/role to some one else who was looking to move on from his, only found out he was even in the building when the other person (the one looking to have my role) let slip by asking what I was going to be doing seen as how he had just been given my role and would be starting on monday. Needless to say was not too happy, a phone call to my boss' boss (and a call from the client saying they were not happy with the change either) soon put that right, 6 months later he moved on to a new role, and by all accounts fked that up as well.
All most forgot, I left my 1st job after a new boss shouted at me because the graphs I was producing were showing how far of target his team were, this was apparently my fault and not his teams. All came to a head when he went through all the data and the graphs with a fine tooth comb, couldn’t find anything wrong but still tried to give me a verbal warning because " I could at least try to me the figures look better than I did"

Do you work for the same company as me? Mr. Wet-cabbage-handshake. Had it in for me most of the time because of the way I dressed (jeans/t-shirt - okay I was a rebel back then!), but he never took much notice of the actual work I did. Until I left that is, when he pleaded for me to come back (yeah right) after 6 months. I later found out through a mate that he thought I was the best designer there. Would have been nice to know at the time though.
