I bought GTA IV over Xmas, when Steam had their sales on, and only this morning did I decide to give it a whirl, cynically thinking that I would be too old for this type of game. How wrong I was! I have just got off the game, after playing it nearly all day! What a great game, very immersive (apart from some dodgy car control mechanics..)

Can't believe I've had this sitting on my hard drive for over six months and never played it - the rest of my holiday is now fully booked!

Are the add on's worth getting?

Yes!

The Lost And Damned add-on is a new story with different player character, and grainy film-noir visuals. Really enjoyable!

The Ballad of Gay Tony is again a new story with different character, but plays on the more ridiculous side of GTA games... Tanks, Attack choppers and base jumping!

Loved GTA4, nothing quite like buying a sharp suit and blowing everything to hell. The bike mechanics are alot easier to get to grips with than the cars, oh, and Sultans are Evo's in disguise, easily the most versatile car in the game.

OK, have just bought Episodes from Liberty City from Steam - trouble is, it's another huge 15gb download - I have only 27 hours left to download, ready for playing... lol

(And I am sure Michelle is something to do with the cops/FBI - too many questions..... hehe)

Finish the main story first as the DLC links in with it, and IMO, makes it better smile

Epic game, and I don;t use the word lightly. I'm still playing it now, don't think any game has ever consumed so much of my time, so easy to just mess about for ages.

I will - am 25% through the game now, and Episodes from Liberty City is still downloading anyway (seems to take about 4-5gb per day -- only 10gb left to download.....)
I use the X-Box 360 controller, but was very pleased I could use the mouse for the sniper rifle missions!

Their is a hidden sultan "fast and furious" style with nitro's and is insanely quick. Its at the abandoned mansion in the north of the middle island.

Lost and damned and the ballad of gay tony are excellent. The new features - calling a guy to bring you a car/bike or a van to buy weapons from is just excellent, the new weapons, I thought the crazy golden bling dude was excellent and the rolls royce convertible he lets you use and his helicopter are ace (the heli missions and parachuting missions are some of the most fun parts).

The "Fast and Furious" Sultan is actually the Sultan RS and the paint Job is the Evolution 6.5 Tommi Makinen edition. Incredibly fast and handle on rails, just like the real thing does.

the RS is on the last island, at the north, where the abandoned house is, behind the garages.

4dr sultans are perfect for general mission use.
