Having never really been in to games etc in the past, just want to know if you can play the gt racing games through a blu-ray player and onto the tv screen, reason for this being that Hopefully off to the "ring" next year and want to get some idea of what I'm getting into before arriving, will also be buying the feedback steering wheel set-up.
Sorry if it's a numpty question, but as said never really been into this sort of stuff before.

No, you'll need a games console I'm afraid, what games in particular?

You'll need a PC for that one. Well worth it though. Also take a look at Rfactor. smile

Assuming you don't have a mac at the moment! Plus if it is a pc it will need to be high enough spec to run it.

pc is a bit long in the tooth, so will probably go down the games console route, next question, which console, remembering that it won't get much use apart from learning the driving game about the "ring" and maybe a few other circuits.
So really, best value for money console.
Thanx

Well you can't get that game (GTR2) on a console. The best I've seen is the current version of Forza Motorpsort so I'd suggest an Xbox 360 as thats the only console it's available on. Of course The Playstation has Gran Turismo but IMO Forza has the edge on realism. A pc would be better still but I get the impression you don't want to spend very much.

This. I have the above setup and while its not 100% on realism, its a pretty good analogue. Currently using the 360 with a 600hz plasma, the microsoft wireless wheel and 5.1, works a treat.

Assuming you have a decent tv - ie HD etc expect to spend a minimum of £300 for the console, wheel and game, and prepare to lose countless hours doing doughnuts and trying to powerslide 1200bhp Veyrons and/or make 300mph on the Mulsanne!

Yes the tv is brand new, flat screen hd model, I don't mind spending the money as long as I'm going to get the use out of it.
So what you're saying is that you cannot run this game through a console, only a PC, why is that?

Because GTR2 isn't available on a console. The nearest you can get is Race Pro which was developed by the same company. It's not as good as their PC versions though. (GTR2, Race On. etc) (IMO)
