mmmmm cake!!!

One very clear leader so far.

Comment on programme. Certain parts dragged; could they have found a more boring person than the Victorian wedding cake expert? Must confess I dropped off and had to rewind a bit then ffwd back to the proper cake bit.

So it's not just me that has dramas with cakes failing to rise, sinking, dropping stuff on the floor.

Learnt some stuff though.

Every programme like this seems to have some tears when it all goes tits-up in an X-factor style way. Last night it was the bus driver who had a crisis and neeed for higs and sympathy from Mel, or was it Sue?

Some of those signature and chocolate cakes were spectacular though. The Victoria sponges so so however which suggests that some of the contestants may have been selected for features other than culinary. It is TV so probably smoke and mirrors.

Will continue to watch.

I think the current clear leader will not be the eventual winner though.

Biscuit and scone round, complete blow up last night.

Last week's winner out on her ear as predicted.

How in holy hell can you stuff up making scones ffs! Only one out of eight of them got it right!

Thought this lot were supposed to be "la creme de la creme" of amateur bakers.

I've watched both and do wonder if some of their difficulties come from using an unfamiliar kitchen. Also on the technical cooking sections surely some of that comes down to your own preferences, if your scones taste great but aren't perfectly to standard does it really matter?
