Anyone know who makes speedo cable inner drives in the Birmingham area? Better still, anyone know off which car comes the cable that takes the speedo drive from the gearbox to the module thingy under the bonnet on a 91 400se.
Mine broke last night!

Well I've checked the Range Rover manual (86 -94) and the cable shown looks just like mine! The only difference that I can see is that the TVR cable is shown as 55 inches long (and it's too short, thats why they break) and the LR part is 77 inches.

Now here's something to make you ponder........

Cable cost from TVR : £26

Cable cost from LR specialist £8

I think I'll risk it for a Swisskit (as we used to say)

I'll let you all know if it fits OK

Aye, if it's too long, just coil the surplus up tightly and put a couple of cable ties around it....

Apparently mine is from a RR. There's a small box with two wire coming from it (presumably heading for the ECU) at the end of the main cable, then a short cable to the speedo head itself.
