Hi guys,

I’m back in the UK for the Revival and have 1 week to enjoy the SW before being in Wiltshire the following weekend. I’m travelling with a mate, so car related trips are planned.

We’ll leave Goodwood on the Monday, stop at Beaulieu …. Then go onto Pendine Sands in Wales – maybe not too much to see but a must for any motoring enthusiast. My question is, what other “places” are there en-route or in the neighborhood ?

Been to Brooklands a couple of times, castle combe, I guess not much to see if nothings happening !

Thanks in advance…

Matt

PS We don't plan to head too far north of the M5 as we'll also see family of mine.

Gaydon is worth a look if that's not too far away.

Tangmere is an excellent museum and only a few mins from Goodwood. Planes rather than cars though.

Tank Museum at Bovingdon, Dorset. At lesast they're vehicles smile

If you want to go to aircraft museums, then quite a few additional museums can be included in your travels.

Tangmere Museum (near Chichester)
Science Museum, Wroughton, Wiltshire
FAST Museum, Farnborough (small - but interesting)
RAF Museum, Hendon
Solent Sea and Sky, Southampton

That’s great, thanks ... of course how did I forget Tangmere – (I've been to the battle of Britain museum in Kent , that’s also fantastic)

I’ll start with these..

Tangmere Museum
Beaulieu motor museum
FAST Museum Farnborough,
Atwel (Interesting car museum in Calne)
and of course Bovington

Any time left, then onto Pendine Sands…

Great....

If you get as far as Cornwall there is always the former formula 1 circuit as Davidstow. It was a WW2 Airbase & used for racing for a few years after the war it apparently staged a few F1 races. Most of the runways are still there although in a pretty poor condition so no good for speed runs or donuting. Theres a public road right through the middle & its not fenced so easy to access & theres also a small & friendly museum.
