SL55 AMG F1 - at last!!

Hello all,

I have been annoying my wife for years about an SL55 and I have been switching my "dream elegance" to Bentley, to Maserati, to Porsche to name a few, but I have always wanted the SL55. [Many brand snobs have told me I was mad]. Recently I discovered the F1 Performance Pack variant and decided that that was the one above all I wanted. I saw one a month ago, go t keen, transferred the money from savings to current and was ready to buy. Slept on the decision, and bottled it. The car was 140 miles away. Maybe I couldn't be arsed? A month later (last Friday) one came up in black at my local Merc dealer and, .... today I collected it and I have to say it is superb....although there are two malfunctions in the computer not 15 miles in - one the dealer knew about and has ordered some tyre pressure sensors and the other I don't know as I seem to have accidently reset the computer memory....I love this car - it was love at first sight, I will forgive it anything and I hope I will be married to it/her for years to come. It is fully loaded and even got a TV in it!!!

I understand too that the F1 also has a limited slip diff and is not restricted to the 155mph?

Oooooh, haaaaah, I am jealous, I could trade in my immaculate 129 500SL for perhaps a couple of wheels, but there again I am happy as is. Good luck and happy motoring.
