Yet another Daily Mail non story.

In short-the bloke said "More than 30 years ago the BBC had a left bias but this is a completely new generation and now it doesn't" and the Daily Mail have turned that into a huge article slagging the BBC off as though this is somehow proof of something.
And you are helping them with your hysterical threads.

So do you believe the BBC is politically unbiased? What planet do you come from?

No. I just believe this is a completely non story that you have done what every Daily Mail reader does and read the hysterical opening paragraph and become outraged without even bothering to finish the article which puts the comments into perspective.
Im on the same planet as you, I just live in the bit that doesn't think the Daily Mail is some kind of Bible.

I read the whole of the article as well as the text of his lecture. The proof of bias is given by him, although he claims there is no bias now.
That's absolute bovine manure as their reporting might as well be backgrounded by the "Internationale"... apart from which the lefties there want to strike as their pensions (funded by green taxes, AGW lies and companies subscribing to the falacious carbon exchange swindle) are endangered.

BBC = bLIARs bullst company

Total non-story. Also: fk the Daily Mail. I'm not a fan of BBC news, but I'll take their BS over the Wails anyday.

Your source of political news is the Daily Mail, and you're claiming the BBC to be biased?

You're talking out of your arse. There's an obvious left-leaning in the BBC's staff, but that isn't through some kind of recruitment policy, its because most people in the arts are that way inclined.

I see little of anything left-leaning in their political coverage, however. Anyone listening to Labour politicians being grilled on R4's Today programme would understand that.

I don't care about any of that.
Its far too boring.
To repeat, all Im saying is that a bloke saying "30 years ago the BBC had a left bias" is not news and certainly not worthy of the hysterical thread title.

You have a choice about the Daily Mail but not the BBC.

What? Whaaat? Andrew Marr, I mean, come ON! Really?

I accept the news people do not let the Labour guys off too easily. Personally I find the BBC biased. Worse - they purport to impartiality they do not have.

Papers like the Telegraph are horribly biased, often, but at least it's out in the open where you can see it and read between the lines.

The Daily Mail, of course, is so right-leaning that it should have toppled over years ago. hehe Like the Leaning Tower of Pisa it's amazing it stands up...

Which labour politican? was it Blair?

When i see them giving Blair a good 'roasting' then i might start to think they are becoming neutral.

If you watch News At Ten on BBC1 and don't see any left leaning then I'd suggest you're more part of the problem than the solution.

The BBC needs to be given 12 months to reform or be closed down. No ifs, no buts. The threat of losing both their jobs and their pensions might be enough to ensure they take a more central approach, because clearly just a sense of decency or professionalism hasn't been enough.

Can you suggest a news source with no bias or agenda. Right after you do that, I've got a slice of brie I'd like you to turn into gold....

What a laod of tosh. Judging by the caps and exclamations in the title I am guessing the OP is a Mail columnist too, string 'em up by the benefits, angin's too good for 'em.

You are right, but we are not threatened with prison if we do not finance those other news outlets..
